22 states will protect men’s health more than women’s health if Obamacare is overturned.
What happens if the Supreme Court strikes whole or parts of Obamacare? These popular provisions would be lost:
- Access to health insurance for 30 million Americans and lower premiums.
- Insurers’ inability to discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions.
- Affordable health care for lower-income Americans.
- Investments in women’s health.
- Young adults’ ability to stay on their parents’ health care plans.
- Temporary coverage for the sickest Americans.
Under the new policy, people younger than 30 who came to the United States before the age of 16, pose no criminal or security threat, and were successful students or served in the military can get a two-year deferral from deportation, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said.
It also will allow those meeting the requirements to apply for work permits, Napolitano said, adding that participants must be in the United States now and be able to prove they have been living in the country continuously for at least five years. The change is part of a department effort to target resources at illegal immigrants who pose a greater threat, such as criminals and those trying to enter the country now, Napolitano said, adding it was “well within the framework of existing laws.”
In my opinion, the Obama administration has always been extremely political. At risk of sounding like a pessimist; how convenient is it that all of a sudden he’s supporting gay marriage and passing acts like this come re-election time? I mean either way supporting gay marriage is definitely a positive change, as well as the recent change on immigration. I personally don’t see why everyone is freaking out and crying foul, some essentially arguing it’ll tighten the job market. Isn’t that ideal? Hasn’t America always pushed to be competitive? People love to complain. If bitching and moaning was a job that paid, our economy would definitely be flourishing.
800,000+ undocumented people your age in this country getting some form of identification and chance to prosper like us seems like a good thing to me.
Republicans have blocked so many potential job-creating bills in Congress, it almost makes you think they’re doing it on purpose.
If you think he sucks, that’s fine, but Romney isn’t any better and this isn’t time for on the job training. Also if anything, the fact that Santorum doesn’t know when to gtfo and stfu, he’s probably going to push Romney more towards the conservative side… and we all know what happens then. Good luck and have fun appealing to an irrelevant demographic. Either way, wait till the debates as well and Obama will run circles around Romney.
The fact that so many of you said zombies over Rick Santorum is hilarious, there’s no GIF out there to adequately display my reaction right now.
