Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) on Wednesday suggested that, given the attack on Boston carried out by two immigrants, he would consider barring young foreign Muslims from getting student visas to come the United States.
Prompted by host Neil Cavuto to address how the attack by the Tsarnaev brothers — neither of whom came to the country on student visas — had influenced immigration reform, Rubio said that he was willing to consider Fox News Host Bob Beckel’s suggestion that anyone who observes Islam should not get a student visa:
CAVUTO: Senator, there are some getting leery of all the Muslim students in America. Bob Beckel is among those saying stop grants visas, others speaking about slowing down the number getting into the country. What do you think?
RUBIO: We need to be open to changes that provide more security. I don’t like profiling anybody or singling or generally leading, on the other hand student visas are something this country does because it’s in our national interest but you don’t have a right to a student visa. I’m not prepared to take a firm position on restriction. I want to learn about what might have worked to prevent past attacks.
Islamophobia has been pervasive in the responses to last week’s attack on Boston. Somemembers of Congress, along with conservative political spokespeople, have said the attack underlines that Islam is a religion of violence, or that Muslim communities have influenced violent jihad. In fact, Tamerlan Tsarnaev was kicked out of his mosque for using violent rhetoric, and the Muslim community in Toronto recently worked with authorities to help stop a terrorist attack.

Matthew Keys, the social media editor at Reuters, posted audio of a reporter asking White House Press Secretary Jay Carney if U.S. bombings that kill innocent civilians in Afghanistan constitute an “act of terror” given the labeling of the Boston Marathon bombing as “terrorism”. She specifically refers to a U.S. airstrike earlier this month that killed 11 children, just the latest in a seemingly endless line of Afghan civilian deathsat the hands of the U.S. government.
Carney completely dodged the questions, pointing instead to the 9/11 terrorist attacks to justify U.S. bombings in Afghanistan. After a long-winded answer excusing U.S. conduct, Carney concludes, “ we take great care in the prosecution of this war.”

REPORTER: I send my deepest condolence to the victims and families in Boston. But President Obama said that what happened in Boston was an act of terrorism. I would like to ask, Do you consider the U.S. bombing on civilians in Afghanistan earlier this month that left 11 children and a woman killed a form of terrorism? Why or why not?
JAY CARNEY: Well, I would have to know more about the incident and then obviously the Department of Defense would have answers to your questions on this matter. We have more than 60,000 U.S. troops involved in a war in Afghanistan, a war that began when the United States was attacked, in an attack that was organized on the soil of Afghanistan by al Qaeda, by Osama bin laden and others and more than 3,000 people were killed in that attack. And it has been the President’s objective once he took office to make clear what our goals are in Afghanistan and that is to disrupt, dismantle and ultimately defeat al Qaeda. And with that as our objective to provide enough assistance to Afghan National Security Forces and the Afghan government to allow them to take over security for themselves. And that process is underway and the United States has withdrawn a substantial number of troops and we are in the process of drowning down further as we hand over security lead to Afghan forces. And it is certainly the case that I refer you to the defense department for details that we take great care in the prosecution of this war and we are very mindful of what our objectives are.
At the very least, this serves as another example of the utter meaninglessness of the word “terrorism”.
I got i picture of this sick fuck before he walked away.
i was at the store looking for items i could use for cosplay, when i notice this man walking past me multiple times within 10 minutes. As i was moving on to other isles, i noticed he kept following me and glancing at me and making excuses to brush past me (people dont normally squeeze by you with their crotch facing you now do they?) and this is when i knew something was up.So, i move to an isle to bait him for this picture, as he approaches me directly this time, i turn around to try and snap a picture before yelling “APPROACH ME AGAIN AND ILL HAVE YOU REPORTED.” no response, he just walks away. so thinking he’s been scared off, because i hadn’t seen him for a good 25 minutes after that, i finish up my shopping, and as im reaching for a bottle of nail polish, i see a large hand lean against the shelf and this man chuckle and say ” oh sorry” as he grabs my hip. i didnt hear him come near me, and it scared the shit out of me,(mind you im 5’0” and only 16) so my automatic reaction was to punch, kick, and claw my way free, but i mostly did kicking and managed to give him a mighty kick to the crotch (go dancer legs go!) and ran towards the first employee i could find. i showed them this picture and she had at least 6 of the employees try to find him. but apparently he had already left.
Dont take this shit from ANYONE. if some one is making you feel unsafe, try to get a clear picture of your attacker and report them to the closest security officer/employee/cop you can find. No one deserves to feel unsafe.
(this was in the Anaheim/Fullerton area and I would watch out for this man in case i wasn’t his only victim.)
